Money in Steal a Brainrot is simple to understand and deep to optimise: every brainrot you place earns cash per second, and your job is to make that number as big as possible. Here's exactly how to do it.
How income works
Your total income is the sum of every brainrot placed in your base. Each brainrot's income-per-second is driven by four things:
- •Its base value (higher rarity = higher base income)
- •Its mutation (multiplies the base)
- •Its traits (add to the multiplier, and they stack)
- •Your rebirth multiplier (a permanent boost on everything)
The in-game formula is:
Income = (Base Value × Mutation Multiplier) + Trait 1 + Trait 2 + ...
Mutations are multiplicative; traits are additive to the multiplier. Want to see what your own setup earns? Plug it into our income calculator.
Mutations — the biggest single lever
Only one mutation applies per brainrot. The naturally-obtainable ones:
| Mutation | Multiplier | Spawn chance |
|---|---|---|
| Gold | 1.25× | 10% |
| Diamond | 1.5× | 5% |
| Rainbow | 10× | 1% (higher during the Rainbow Machine event) |
Rainbow is the single biggest income jump you can farm normally. Event-only mutations go even higher — Lava 6×, Galaxy 7×, Cyber 11×, and Phantom 12× (the current highest) — but they only land during their themed events. See the full list on our mutations page.
Traits — stack them
Unlike mutations, traits stack — a brainrot can carry several, which is how players push income into the billions. The strongest are the OG-event traits:
- •Strawberry — 9×
- •Meowl — 8×
- •John Pork — 7.5×
- •Skibidi — 7×
Common event traits (Fire, Nyan, Reindeer, Halo, Lucky) sit in the 3×–5× range. Your best odds at high-value traits come during Admin Abuse events.
Rebirth — the long game
Rebirthing trades all your cash, brainrots, and gear for a permanent income multiplier plus extra base slots and floors. There are 18 rebirth levels, and the multiplier climbs:
R1 ×0.5 → R3 ×2 → R5 ×4 → R10 ×9 → R15 ×15 → R18 ×18
A few rules of thumb (and the full ladder is in our rebirth guide):
- •Rebirth as soon as you hit the requirement — don't sit on cash.
- •Back up rare brainrots to an alt first — you lose everything you don't.
- •Prioritise Rebirth 2 and Rebirth 10 early — they unlock your 2nd and 3rd floors (more earning slots).
- •Never rebirth mid-steal — brainrots being stolen are lost.
Farm the events
- •Admin Abuse events (Tuesdays and Saturdays, run by the dev) crank luck multipliers up to 30×, dramatically raising your odds at high-value traits and rare brainrots. This is the best window to upgrade your lineup.
- •The Rainbow Machine event boosts Rainbow (10×) mutation odds above the usual 1%.
- •Themed events are the only legit way to get the high-end event mutations.
Stealing (the legit way)
You can shortcut straight to high-income brainrots by stealing them from other players' bases — but you're slowed and the owner gets alerted, so it's risky. Defend your own base by holding E on the Lock field (each rebirth adds +10 seconds of lock time) and using gear unlocked through rebirths. Stick to legit gameplay — some "methods" floating around are bannable.
The top earners
The current top income brainrots are the OG tier — Strawberry Elephant, Meowl, Graipuss Medussi, Los Tralaleritos — followed by top Secrets like Griffin and Dragon Cannelloni. Exact income-per-second changes with every update, so check the live figures on our value list and tier list rather than any static number.
Short on time?
The fastest shortcut to a money-printing base is starting with a high-income brainrot. You can buy top earners from the BloxUltra shop with instant delivery and skip weeks of grinding.
