"Best" means three different things in Adopt Me, and most tier lists mix them up. There is best by value - what a pet fetches in trades and in cash. There is rarest - how hard the pet was to obtain and how little of it exists. And there is cutest, which is a matter of taste and the reason half of these pets got popular in the first place.
This list separates them. The value tiers are the same S-A-B-C tiers our Adopt Me values page uses, built on real demand rather than a guessed number; the cash prices are our shop's on 8 September 2026 and will drift; the egg origins come from the Adopt Me! Wiki. And a disclosure: BloxUltra sells these pets, which is exactly why we can quote a real price next to each one instead of a made-up "worth".
The tier list
S tier: the three old dragons
Bat Dragon. The top of the game. A limited Halloween dragon with constant demand and locked supply - nothing has been added to the pool since it left. It is the most expensive pet we sell: $412.51 standard, $618.76 Neon, $2,681.32 Mega Neon.
Shadow Dragon. The pet everyone recognises on sight - a Halloween Robux pet that became the flex of the game. $293.95 / $440.92 / $1,910.67.
Frost Dragon. The Christmas-event Robux dragon. Constant demand, and easier to trade than most rares because everyone wants one. $153.29 / $229.94 / $996.38.
A tier: the 2019 egg legendaries
These are the reason the oldest eggs matter. All three are instantly recognised, hold value and still move fast in real trades.
Giraffe - the Safari Egg's legendary (5 July to 31 August 2019, the first themed egg). $198.33 / $297.50 / $1,289.14.
Owl - the Farm Egg's legendary (22 November 2019 to 29 February 2020). $129.51 / $194.26 / $841.81.
Parrot - the Jungle Egg's legendary (31 August to 22 November 2019). $108.58 / $162.87 / $705.77.
B tier: the upgrade pieces
Strong, liquid pets that people use to build toward an S-tier trade.
Evil Unicorn - Halloween limited. $75.20 / $120.32 / $507.60.
Crow - the Farm Egg's ultra-rare that trades like a legendary. $93.31 / $149.30 / $629.84.
Arctic Reindeer - from the 2019 Christmas Egg. $37.79 / $68.02 / $264.53.
C tier: steady and liquid
Mid-tier demand that moves quickly, so they are easy to fit into any trade.
Turtle and Kangaroo - the Aussie Egg's legendary and ultra-rare (29 February to 10 October 2020). Turtle $20.84, Kangaroo $16.59.
Cow - the Farm Egg's uncommon that outgrew its rarity. $24.99.
Where the legendaries came from
Nearly every pet in the tiers above is from an egg or event that has ended, which is the whole story of Adopt Me values: demand keeps growing, supply stopped years ago.

The rarest pets
Rarity and value are not the same thing, and this is where they split.
- •Diamond Dragon, Diamond Griffin, Diamond Unicorn. The Diamond Egg needs a full 660-Star streak to reach the Golden Egg first, then another 660 - the wiki puts it at 360 consecutive days - and then a one-in-three roll. Almost nobody completes it, which is why the Diamond Dragon and Diamond Griffin are rare in the literal sense.
- •Golden Dragon, Golden Griffin, Golden Unicorn. Half the journey - 660 Stars, up to 180 days. Golden Unicorn, Golden Dragon, Golden Griffin.
- •The short-window event pets. The Royal Moon Egg was on sale for ten days in February 2025 and the Royal Aztec Egg for two weeks in August 2025; the Zodiac Minion Egg lasted two weeks in June 2022 and was 100% legendary.
- •The Griffin. A 600-Robux legendary that is no longer sold.
Rare does not always mean valuable. The Golden and Diamond pets are scarce but were never the flex that the Bat Dragon is, and trading demand follows the flex.
The cutest pets (value be damned)
If you play for the pets rather than the trades, none of this matters and the choice is yours. Popular picks that also happen to be cheap to buy outright as of 8 September 2026: the Dango Penguins at $18.87, the Cabbit at $15.73, the Flamingo at $18.98 and the Retired Egg's Red Panda if you would rather hatch than buy - it is a rare in a 600-Buck egg you can still purchase. The Cryptid at $54.99 and the Giant Panda at $69.99 are the mid-range favourites.
Neon and Mega Neon, briefly
Since 13 July 2019 you can fuse four full-grown pets of the same type in the Neon Cave under the main bridge into one Neon; since 17 April 2020, four full-grown Neons make a Mega Neon - sixteen base pets. Only one of the sixteen needs to be fly or ride for the result to be, or you feed the finished pet a Ride-A-Pet Potion (150 Robux) or Fly-A-Pet Potion (295 Robux).
In cash terms a Neon is worth more than one pet but less than the four it took - the Neon Owl is $194.26 against four standard Owls at $129.51 each - and the Mega Neon is where the multiplier lands, at $841.81 for the Owl. The full FR/NFR/MFR glossary and the maths are in Adopt Me pet values.
