"Is Traderie safe" is the fourth result on Google for "traderie mm2" - a Reddit thread on r/MurderMystery2 asking exactly that. The honest answer is that it is the wrong question, because Traderie is not the kind of site that can be safe or unsafe with your money. It never touches your money. What it can be is useful or useless for the thing you are trying to do, and that depends on what the thing is.
Disclosure first: BloxUltra sells MM2 items for real money, delivered by in-game trade. Traderie is an alternative to that for people who would rather trade than buy. We think it is a decent one for a specific job, and this review says which.
What Traderie actually is
Traderie is a trading board. Players list the items they have and the items they want, message each other, and complete the swap in the game's trade window. The site's footer says it plainly: "Traderie is a fan-made website and is in no way affiliated with Roblox, Diablo, or any other game on the website." It runs on the same platform as Nookazon, the Animal Crossing trading site (its pages still render as "| Nookazon"), and it has an iOS and Android app.
It is free. It does not hold items, does not hold payments, and does not deliver anything. Every trade that starts on Traderie finishes inside Murder Mystery 2, where the game's own trade window enforces that both sides get what they agreed.
Three things from its FAQ (last edited 21 February 2026) tell you most of what you need:
- •Real-money trading is banned. "Is real money trading, homemade amiibos, hacking, etc. allowed? Absolutely not. Do not request, conduct, or advertise real money trades or real item trades (including but not limited to trading in-game items for money, gift cards, etc.)." So if someone on Traderie offers to sell you a Harvester for cash, they are breaking the site's rules, and you would be handing money to a stranger with no protection at all.
- •Free listings are gated. "Listing free items are limited to those who have at least 5 reviews with a rating greater than 3 stars. This is to limit the number of scams associated with free listings." That is a sensible control against the "free godly" bait that plagues MM2.
- •It runs private servers. The FAQ lists an "MM2 Traderie Private Server Link" among its Roblox servers, with a warning worth quoting in full: "No Lifeguard On Duty: These Servers are not actively moderated. As with ANY server especially ones available to the public, please be mindful of both your own safety, and the safety of others. Swim at your own risk!"
What the reviews say
As of 8 September 2026, Traderie's Trustpilot profile - claimed in September 2024, contact listed as United States - shows a 2.4 "Poor" score from 103 reviews, 52% one-star and 21% five-star, with 13 reviews in the last twelve months and a 27% reply rate to negative reviews.
Two cautions before reading anything into that. A hundred reviews is a tiny sample for a site this size, and a good share of the one-star reviews are about Discord bans and unanswered appeals, not trades. The trade-related complaints, though, are consistent and specific:
- •Fake trades that distort values. The most recent review at the time of fetch: "Fix the fake trading problems. The fake trades ruin values and make the games so much worse … the number of fake trades there and on the MM2 is crazy." If you use Traderie's values as a price reference, know that they are user-generated and can be gamed.
- •Scam-bot DMs. From an Adopt Me user: "There is a lot of scam bots on traderie that dm you asking you to check out their channel and say they are giving away free pets." - •And a fair defence. A four-year user: "Yes there are lots of bots and scams but those are not the website's fault and are very easily manageable (block them). I've been using it for years and I've completed a lot of trades."
That last review is about right. The site is a notice board; the scammers are people using the notice board.
Where the risk really sits
Because Traderie holds nothing, every risk is in the step after it: the trade itself. The dangers are the standard MM2 ones, and the game's trade window defeats most of them if you use it properly.
- •Off-platform pressure. "Let's do it in Discord" or "send yours first, I'll send mine after". The trade window exists so that neither side sends first. Anyone who wants to leave it is the scam.
- •The last-second swap. A trade partner replaces the agreed item with a lookalike or a lower-tier item just before you accept. Read the final trade screen every time; our how to trade in MM2 guide walks through it.
- •Fake value claims. Someone tells you your item is worth less than it is, citing "Traderie values". Check any offer against an independent list before accepting - our MM2 value list and value calculator exist for that.

When Traderie is the right tool, and when it isn't
Use it when you have items to swap and want to find someone who has what you want. It is free, it has volume, and the game enforces the swap. Its MM2 private server saves you finding one.
Don't use it when you want a specific item you do not have the trade value for. That is a purchase, Traderie bans purchases, and doing one anyway means paying a stranger with nothing behind it. Traderie is a legitimate, free trading board with real volume, sensible listing rules and its own MM2 server, dragged down by the things that plague every open trading community: scam bots in your DMs and fake trades that muddy its values. Treat its values as a rough guide, its DMs with suspicion, and its trade window as the only place a deal is real - and it does its one job well.
