Grow a Garden 2 launched on June 12, 2026 as the official sequel to the record-breaking Grow a Garden (which peaked at over 22 million concurrent players in 2025). It's a separate game — your old save doesn't carry over — and it keeps the chill farming loop while adding a competitive twist. Here's exactly what changed.

What's new in Grow a Garden 2
Nighttime stealing. The headline feature: at night, players can sneak into other gardens and steal ripe fruit — and plants fight back. You can set traps and buy defensive pets (Black Dragon, Ice Serpent) to protect your harvest, or play offense with a Raccoon that raids undefended gardens.
Buy pets directly. No more hatching eggs and praying for rarity — in GAG2 you purchase pets straight from the shop with Sheckles. That makes Sheckle income even more central. (See the pet tier list.)
New mutations and seeds. A refreshed mutation set with new multipliers (full mutations list) and new premium crops to chase.
Which should you play?
Both games are live, but Grow a Garden 2 is where the action is right now — it passed 400,000 concurrent players within 20 minutes of launch and has the most active community and freshest meta. If you want the new competitive stealing gameplay, GAG2 is the one.
Getting started fast

Details based on the June 2026 launch; the game is still being balanced.
