In Grow a Garden 2, the seed you plant sets the base sell price of your crop — and mutations multiply it from there. The best strategy is simple: plant the highest-value crops you can afford, then stack a mutation on top.
Here's how to prioritize your plots for maximum Sheckles (current as of the June 2026 launch).
Best high-value seeds to prioritize
The premium-tier crops in the shop give the most Sheckles per harvest. Prioritize these once you can afford them:
- •Dragon Fruit & Dragon's Breath — top-tier exotic crops, high base value.
- •Ghost Pepper — a premium spicy crop (also sold as a pack with gear).
- •Moon Bloom — a rare night-themed crop that fits the new nighttime meta.
- •Venus Fly Trap & Poison Apple — high-value novelty crops in strong demand.
- •Pomegranate, Mango, Dragon Fruit — solid upper-mid earners.
Starter crops like Strawberry, Blueberry, Tomato, and Corn are cheap and fast — perfect for the early game to build up your first few hundred thousand Sheckles, but you'll want to graduate to premium seeds as soon as you can.
Why mutations change the math
A cheap seed with a great mutation can beat an expensive seed with none. The real money move is premium seed + premium mutation:
| Crop tier | + Gold (15x) | + Rainbow (40x) | + Electric (70x) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | small | decent | good |
| Premium | good | excellent | jackpot |
Use a Golden Dragonfly (2x Gold) or Unicorn (2x Rainbow) to raise your mutation rate. Full breakdown in our mutations list.
Plant smarter, not harder
- •Always be planting — never leave a plot empty.
- •Buy a Deer (50K Sheckles) for +10% growth speed everywhere.
- •Farm during events for Electric, Frozen, and Starstruck mutations.
- •Reinvest every harvest into better seeds and pets.
